Poster Design

This is what I've created for a poster design. I still need to add the information text (date time place). If you have any ideas please let me know. If leila or any one would like to add anything or use an element of it I can email you the original .psd file.

Any ideas where we can print this in colour???

All three of these make up ideas, mainly the eyes,  are great.I think the first one will be amazing for snake because it kind of shows the cunningness, and is strong, but it isnt like too much. The second one seems real cool for the fox because it has a cleverness and alertness to it, but at the same time there is something subtle to it, and it looks a tad playful. The last one is also an idea for the snake, EYE MAKE UP..not anything else..

Make Up Idea

I reallllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy like the make up on her, i think it brings our a lot of emotion and its kind of mixed, i think it would be cool for some flower, or rose or roses..or anything that has to do with a flower. I like how it is different in color, and kind of lightens the mood, even though there is quite a bit if make up on.

The Little Prince Costume!!

RONJA!

I just found this really cool version of the little prince costume!!!!
http://anniesklaver.wordpress.com/

What do you think?? These are cool adaptions of the costume -- of course, you don't have to change your current design because I'm pretty sure we're all happy with it. But if you like any parts of these they may be good inspiration!
Look :)

Sunset Movement

Heyy people ---
so I found this video online.. and it reminded me so much of a sunset, especially in the desert.
The movement and color of her skirt to me, look so much like a sunset. It would be hard to recreate this, but I love the general look of the flow. We wouldn't be recreating this exactly, but perhaps we could take elements from it? Especially the movement of the skirt. Although the sunset can be shown through lighting, it might be good to mix up the way in which the sun is set. Especially during the lamp scene. (I think) during that scene the lights will be changing a lot to fit the times of day.. it fits here, but if the same thing is repeated throughout the play the effect of the sunset might lose it's specialty and may become redundant. We're also hoping to create a sunset through the movement of the ensemble and I think this video is a really good source of inspiration.

Maybe it doesn't necessarily have to be the movement of the body with the skirt, maybe we could just find inspiration in the material itself? Maybe we could create a sunset with flowing material?

Please all watch it and see if it inspires you at all=) Let me know what you think or any ideas you might get!!

Ensemble Costume Ideas

Hey guys, it's Ronja!
So, I was thinking about the ensemble costumes, and while I want them to be simple, I started thinking that plain black might be a little too bland. And you guys know/remember how Khushboo had that idea about neon/glow in the dark paint splatters on some part of the set? Well, I was thinking that we could somehow incorporate that into the shirts the ensemble members are wearing (in case you don't remember, the ensemble costume is a black t-shirt and black pants for boys, and black leggings and a long black tank top for girls). I know some characters would wear the ensemble costumes under their other character costumes, but that's why I wouldn't want to have the paint splatters be TOO vivid and only on the shirts (which are covered by most of the character costumes anyway).

Here are some pictures of what I was thinking about:
(not this vivid, and not on shorts, but something like this?)

So these kinds of designs... sound good?

TELL ME WHAT YOU GUYS THINK :)

The Taming of the Fox

So.. I looked up videos on the "taming of the fox" ... and this was the best I could find (so far):

This isn't what I want to do for the performance, although I do like their use of movement and the way they interact. But ballet/interpretive dance isn't our focus for the Little Prince. We could incorporate the view points of Anne Bogart (so think about this needed dance during Sophia's workshops), especially relationship with space and interaction with others. I've just watched a video an opera performance (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKv5jME35zc) in which they use touch. I think it would be effective in showing the trust the fox develops for the Little Prince if they development of touch was shown. As in, when they first meet the fox scampers away if the little prince even steps too close. But by the end of our "dance" the fox could allow the little prince to touch his head, nose, back or arm/hand. From there they could maybe move in unison? Before that final part though, the fox could use the tree as a form of protection from the little prince at times .... okay, wow this is really difficult o.m.g. but anyway -- there would need to be music too, so it's not awkward movements on stage...

If anyone has any ideas for how the fox dance could be performed I am definitely all ears. I think Mark Hill should be able to give us a lot of inspiration for this part, but if we can have some idea before hand that would be awesome.

This Blog

Hey Guys!

So this blog has been created for everyone to share their inspirations/ideas/comments/thoughts/research, etc., on the little prince. This is so we can all effectively share and comment on others' ideas too.

GOLDEN RULE: RESPECT OTHERS' IDEAS! --> meaning... do not delete or talk down others' ideas. agreed? awesome.

Please you guys, actually use this blog. I'm hoping it'll be a lot more helpful and it'll give us a concrete list and storage of our ideas, so we can go back and reference them at any time.

yayyyyy.
